Time to Recycle: Empties #10

Tuesday, December 29, 2015

2015 is almost coming to an end, so it's time for the last empties post of the year! Empties are still my favorite post to write and read. This time, there are a few products included that seriously disappointed me, I'm happy to get rid of them. Other products are favorites.

1) The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Scrub: I think I've talk a lot about this scent/product already. I love it, the scrub is fine but perfect for scrubbing. It smells like peach yoghurt.
Would I repurchase? Yes

2) Ultra Doux Honey Serum: This is the fourth of fifth bottle I finished. It's awesome. It makes the hair very soft and it smells heavenly. In my opinion, the best hair product I have ever used.
Would I repurchase? Yes Yes Yes.

3) The Body Shop Vitamine E Night Cream: This is quite a thick cream. In the winter time, I also use this as a day cream because my skin is very dry during the cold winter months.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

4) The Body Shop Vitamine E Day Cream: In contrary to the night cream, I didn't like this one as much. It's just not that special. It wasn't hydrating enough for my skin.
Would I repurchase? Probably not.

5) Me Me Me Coral Blossom Cheek & Lip Tint: I got this in a Deauty box a few months ago and I think it's horrible. I looked very promising and had a gorgeous coral-peach color. However, on the skin: nothing. The color just disappeared and faded into my skin. The weeks after that, it changed color and now it's this weird consistency and color. Meh!
Would I repurchase? Never.

6) Bourjois Aqua Blush 12 Hr in '03 Pink Twice': This was actually a very nice product... before the pump just stopped working. It gave a gorgeous natural looking pink flush to the skin. Very easy to use: just a small pump on your fingers, tap it on your cheek and blend it in. The color was so pretty and the effect looked so natural. I was able to use it about 4 times before it broke. I don't know what happened to it, the pump can still be pushed but nothing comes out. I don't think it's possible that this is empty after 4 small pumps? It was quite expensive so I was very disappointed that it didn't work anymore.

Would I repurchase? I want to, but I'm afraid it will break again.

7) Nivea Stay Real Foundation: This is actually a product I found back in my make up stash and was too old to be used. It was great when I first had it, but I got other favorite foundations now.

Would I repurchase? It's not available anymore, so no.

8) L'Oréal Super Liner Perfect Slim: The only eyeliner I can actually work with. This creates a nice, thin line that lasts all day. The problem is that the cap fell off and it dried out.

Would I repurchase? Yes.

Rimmel Nail Polish Remover: I have never tried a nail polish remover that didn't work. This was a good one, but not that special. The only downside is that the scent stayed on my hand extremely long, even after washing my hands.
Would I repurchase? Maybe, if I couldn't find any other remover.

Soap & Glory Hand Food: This gets so much love on youtube and blogs, so I was really curious to try it out. And I didn't get the hype. Okay, it smells not bad but it took so long to sink in. I'm very impatient about hand creams, they need to sink in asap! It was just not that special to me.

Would I repurchase? No.

L'Occitane Karité Hand Cream: I used this a lot, just to finish it up. It's a small sample size. Not that great, I've used better hand creams than this one.

Would I repurchase? No.

Ciaté in 'Dangerous Affair': Ciaté polishes looks so classy and cute and this color was gorgeous. A creamy dark red, right up my alley! It's all dried up and clumpy now, so it's time to toss it out.
Would I repurchase? I don't think so.

Demak'up Cotton pads (two packs): Cotton pads with a soft side and a bit of a texturized side: helps to get your make-up off more easily. Can't say anything bad about this.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

Total Dental Floss: Maybe a weird product to include in a emties post, but hey: it's used up! Dental floss is a very awesome product. I'm not going to give too much details, but it helps to get your teeth extra clean!
Would I repurchase? Sure!

Time to start saving empty products again!

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas time and I wish you all happy holidays!
xx,
Astrid

  1. I had no idea Nivea ever made a foundation! I love their skincare, so I'll have to see if they still make a foundation and try it out if they do. Great post!

    1. They had a whole line of make-up, but it was all canceled some years ago. It was a very good foundation, but I don't think it's available anywhere anymore :(

    2. Ah, that's too bad. I really like their body lotion and their lip butters. Thanks for letting me know!
