Nail of the Day: Essie Lilacism

Monday, January 28, 2013

The snow has finally started to melt here in Belgium soI decided to paint my nails with a lovely spring color. I've chosen Lilacism by Essie.

This is a beautiful light, creamy lavender color. I love this one! This nail polish was fairly opaque in two coats, but I put on a third one, just to make sure the color was even. Essie nail polishes can be sheer, but this one is not one of them ;)

Essie polishes are available in Di or Kruidvat.

What do you have on your nails right now?

GOSH Mineral Eyeshadow Stick Review and Swatches

Sunday, January 27, 2013

Hey everyone! A little while ago I did a review on the Gosh eyeshadow sticks. The big downside on those eyeshadows is that they are not available anymore. They have been replaced with these new eyeshadow sticks. I have them in two colors: Golden Brown and Brown.

I like the packaging, it's simple and pretty. Unlike the old eyeshadow sticks, these have black packaging with just a little hint of the eyeshadow color on it.

                                            Golden Brown
                                                      Brown

I like that these are very neutral colors and they glide on pretty softly on the skin. They're also well pigmented. However, I like the older eyeshadow sticks a bit more. I thought their pigmentation was better, I liked their packaging a bit more. I don't dislike these new ones, but I like using the older ones better :)

These claim to be waterproof, but to be honest, I have never tried to see if they actually are waterproof. I always use a primer underneath them, because I have oily eyelids and I think these would crease pretty easily.

You can find the Gosh Mineral Eyeshadow sticks in Kruidvat. Gosh is an amazing brand. They have a lot of fun colors (their eyeliners are amazing!) and Kruidvat often does a 'buy 1, get 1 half off' sale on Gosh products ;)

Do you like the old or new eyeshadow sticks better?
Or you have other eyeshadow sticks that you like?

Lush Ro's Argan Body Conditioner Review

Hi ya'll! Today I'm here with a review on the Lush Ro's Argan Body Conditioner. This was part of a Lush Christmas giftbox, that my brother gave me on Christmas eve. I've used this a couple of times now and I gotta say: I love it!

"Packed full of ingredients to feed and nourish the skin: argan oil, cocoa butter, cupaçu butter, brazil nut oil, almond oil and shea butter."
This rose-scented body conditioner makes sure your skin is soft and smells amazing all day long.

After washing up in the shower, put this all over your body (a little goes a long way!), let it sink in for a minute, rinse it off, and pat it dry.

The first time I used this, I was not impressed at all. It left a residu on my skin and was a bit greasy. But then I found out I used it the wrong way. I used way to much of this. But now that I tried it again a couple of times, I just can't say anything bad about this. It smells heavenly, makes my skin so soft and moisturized.

Will I repurchase this? YES! :D

This is available at Lush stores and on the Lush website.

GOSH Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick Review and Swatches

Saturday, January 19, 2013

Hey everyone, today I wanted to share a review on the GOSH Waterproof eyeshadow sticks. I've had these for a really long time, but recently started using them again (a positive thing about my project pan: I rediscover old favorites).

These are twist-up creamy eyeshadow sticks that you can use as a base or eyeshadow. I have them in three colors: Love that Brown, Love that Real Gold and Love that Copper. They are all beautiful neutral shades.

I really like the packaging, it's not hard to find the right color you need in your makeup bag.

                                            Love that Real Gold

                                                     Love that Copper

                                                   Love that Brown

Here are swatches! These eyeshadow sticks are amazing. They have great pigmentation and they blend really nicely on the eyelid. They might be quite sheer once blended, but you can easily build up the color.

BUT Gosh has changed their line of eyeshadow sticks and these colors aren't available anymore. I have two of the new eyeshadow sticks and I will also do a review on those soon.

You can find Gosh Cosmetics in Kruidvat Stores.

ELF Eyeschadow Duos Review and Swatches

Monday, January 14, 2013

Hey guys, today I want to share the ELF Duo Eyeshadows with you. ELF stands for 'Eyes Lips Face' and it is a website where can buy products online. They are really inexpensive, but they have some pretty amazing stuff.

I have the eyeshadow duos in four shades:
- Butter Pecan (Peach shimmer & Medium shimmery brown)
- Olive (Green & dark greenbrown)
- Mocha Swirl (Medium taupe-brown & light beige)
- Berry Mix (light milky pink & burgundy purple)

                                                      Butter Pecan
                                                                Olive
                                                           Mocha Swirl
                                                            Berry Mix

All of these eyeshadows are fantastic. They are very, very, VERY pigmented and so soft. You get so many product in each duo and they are great quality. There is only one downside to these eyeshadows: they are a bit crumbly so there is a big chance of fall-out when you apply them. But that's the only (little) problem I have with these. And do you know what the best part is? They are only €1!

All these duos are available on the ELF website.

Have you tried the ELF eyeshadow duos?

Revlon Colorstay 16 Hour Eyeshadow Quad in 'Decadent' Review

Sunday, January 13, 2013

Hey everyone! Today I'm here with a review on the Revlon Colorstay 16 Hour Quad in '505 Decadent'. I got this for Christmas and I think there are some amazing colours in this little palette. It took a while before it was available in Belgium (as always) but I'm glad it's finally available here. This quad is a very neutral everyday colorsheme, but the colors are unlike any quad I own.

In this quad, you get two pink colors (one more light and creamy colored than the other, for your brow bone and inner corner of the eye), a beautiful gold shade and a reddish brown color. You can use the pinks or gold all over the lid for a quick neutral eye, but you can also go a little bit more dramatic with the brown in the crease.

The colors are quite pigmented and they slide on very creamy on the skin. I've worn the darkest pink already a few times on my eyes and it looks amazing.

This palette is available at INNO and some Planet Parfum stores.

Lush 'It's Raining Men' Shower Gel Review

Saturday, January 12, 2013

Today I'm showing you a Lush Shower Gel. I heard so much about this products and when the lady in the asked me if I wanted to get a little sample of it, I couldn't say no. And I liked it so much, that I bought the medium sized bottle.

This is the description I found on the Lush website: Check out the weather report, it looks like rain today! Get absolutely soaking wet and lather up armed with one of the finest shower gels you can buy. Our honey hand and body soap became such a huge customer favorite that we just had to create a soothing honey shower gel with the same scent. It smells like toffee-fudge, with refreshing sweet orange and bergamot oils to give it a little extra sweetness. In case of stormy weather ahead we made It's Raining Men with lotus flowers to soothe your ravaged bodies and oodles of moisturizing, cleansing honey.

It really has a strong, sweet scent. Unlike any shower gel I ever smelled before. I can't describe what it smells like (which is why I looked up the lush description), but there's definitely honey in it. And I love the smell of honey :)

This shower gel is quite moisturizing but I wish it would lather up some more.

There is something strange about it. I bought this in the Lush store in Antwerp, but on the bottle, the description is written in a language I'm not really familiar with. I think it's funny, they must have mixed up something with the deliveries to the Lush stores.

You can find this shower gel in Lush stores or on the Lush website for €15,20/250g. Their shower gels come in three sizes.

Too Faced Eye Love Swatches and Review

Friday, January 11, 2013

Hi everyone! Today I'm showing you guys a gorgeous eyeshadow palette by Too Faced Cosmetics. If you know Too Faced, you probably know about all of their beautiful eyeshadow palettes, like the Natural Eye palette, the Romantic Eye palette and others. So when I went to Sephora, about a year ago, I couldn't decide between all the palettes. But then I saw this: the Eye Love Palette, which contains eight beautiful eyeshadows.

The packaging is pretty and I like that the palette is not too thick. The original palettes are gigantic, which makes them not practical to take on a trip. This palette is thin, so it takes very little space in your makeup bag.

This Palette contains two shadows from the Natural Eye palette (Heaven and Push-up), two from the Smokey Eye palette (Silver Spoon and Smolder), two from the Naked Eye palette (Satin Sheets and Like a Virgin) and two from the Romantic Eye palette (Honeymoon and Ever After). You also get instructions on how to use the eyeshadow to create the perfect look.

With this palette, you can create beautiful looks, for day and night.

Swatches: 1st row: Heaven, Silver Spoon, Satin Sheets, Honeymoon
2nd row: Push-up, Smolder, Like a Virgin, Ever After

All of these eyeshadows are so softly and pigmented. They glide on the skin and are so beautiful. This palette is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't know how to chose between four palettes ;)

This Palette is available at Sephora.

Project Pan Update + December Empties!

Sunday, January 6, 2013

Some of you might be wondering how everything is going with my Project '6 months' Pan. In November, I decided to stop buying makeup products for six months, so I had the chance to use up products in my collection and remove them.

At first, I thought this was going to be easy. When I go shopping, I don't go into stores like Kruidvat or Di. Those are the Belgian drugstores, where they sell a lot of makeup. I just ignore stores like that. BUT being at home, on a computer, I get tempted to go on websites and see al the sales going on or new products coming out (Asos, I'm looking at you). This makes it harder. But I'm still motivated to go on and not purchase anything.

I already have a few empties as well! These are products that were already almost empty when I started, but hey, they still count as empties! I already threw them out, so I went online to find pictures to show to you guys.

1) Maybelline The Falsies Mascara: At first I didn't like this one. It was very wet and it clumped on my lashes. But after a while, the formula dried up a bit and I loved it! It seperates and lengtens the lashes. I am going to miss this mascara and I might repurchase it ;)

2) Bourjois Gentle Eye Makeup Remover: My favorite remover of all time! It gets everything off without any problem and does not leave a greasy feeling on the face. This is the third bottle I used up and I always repurchase it. I just love it!

3) Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer: I saw a review on this by Amarixe and MissGlamorazzi on Youtube so I decided to try this out and it was fantastic! It covers up dark circles very good and it blends easily into the skin.

4) Nivea Calm&Care Deodorant: If you're looking for a deodorant that doesn't irritate your skin after shaving and smells nice and fresh, you'll love this. The smells stays a long time, but is not overpowering. I use this everyday and after shaving and it doesn't irritate my skin. Very very great deodorant!

That's it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you are having a Project Pan going on, tell me all about it! What products have you used up?

Yves Rocher Expert Réparation Body Lotion Review

Wednesday, January 2, 2013

Hello everybody, I wish you all a happy newyear! I hope this year will be fantastic for everyone. Today I'm showing you my favorite body lotion ever: the Yves Rocher Expert Repair Lotion for extra dry skin. I bought this in may, when I recieved another card from Yves Rocher. I had -50% on a few products by choice and I decided to chose this one. I never thought I would love this so much!

This is a soft, moisturizing cream infused with shea butter that doesn't leave a greasy feeling on your skin. I usually use it after a shower or when my skin needs that little something more . It sinks in to the skin very quickly, which I like a lot. It also has an amazing scent that stays for a while. It keeps the skin very soft. I use often on my arms, because they can get really dry.

I like the product, I like the scent and I will definitely repurchase this (after my project pan)! I just love it! ;)

What's your favorite body lotion?

Astrid
