Nail of the Day: Essie 'Spin The Bottle'
Monday, March 20, 2017
Hello everyone! Time for another NOTD. Last week, when I visited Kruidvat, they had a huge bin of Essie colors -50% off. I looked around for a bit and found this gorgeous color called 'Spin The Bottle'. I think this color was part of the 2014 Spring collection, but I'm not sure.

Short blogpost today! I was searching a nail polish to use today and suddenly, I saw the perfect color. The weather in Belgium has been kind of weird lately. Rain, sun, rain, sun... Cold, warm, cold, warm,... So I need a color that wasn't too bright, but could still add some color. I'm wearing Essie Flowerista and I must say: I'm in love!

Hey everybody! Today, I'm doing a Nail of the day look for you AND showing you how to make your own unique nail stickers! This is such an exciting and fun little project to do. It does take a little time and you need to be patient/careful but other than that: extremely easy!

In about two weeks, my new internship will start and I won't be aloud to wear nail polish. So lately, I've been wearing it non-stop! Today, I'll be showing you this gorgeous color from the O.P.I. Venice collection, that came out in the fall. It's called 'A Great Opera-tunity'.

Winter is the perfect time for dark, vampy nail colors. After having my nail polish-free for almost a month and a half now, it was time to provide them with a color. Today, that is OPI's 'I Sing In Color' from the Gwen Stefani collection. Kruidvat was having a sale on a selection of OPI colors this weekend and I got this shade for €5,99 only.

Hey sweeties! How is your sunday going? I'm back today with an NOTD. I was in Lille this week for some shopping and I got this lovely nude OPI nail polish called 'My Very First Knockwurst'. It was from the Germany collection a few years ago. I don't think it's available in Belgium anymore so I was happy to find it. I also picked up Maybelline's Rosy Gold, from the Crystallize collection.

Hello lovely ladies! I'm back today with a review on a real cult classic... Chanel's Rouge Noir nail polish. Uma Thurman made this polish infamous when she wore it in the movie 'Pulp Fiction'. I got a coupon for -20% off everything at a parfum and makeup store and I knew I had to pick this one up. I've been looking at it for so long and I'm really into dark, vampy nails lately.
This is my first Chanel nail polish ever and I was very excited to pick it up at a discount. The bottle is so simple and sleek but looks classic and timeless. Chanel knows what they are doing.

Hello girls! Today, I'm back today with a another NOTD. I was on a hunt for this polish. It's called 'You're such a Budapest' and it came out with the 2013 'Euro Centrale' spring collection, but I somehow missed out on this color. It's not available in Belgium anymore so I searched for it in Paris. No luck there. But I found it in Lille at the Monoprix. The security man walking around probably thought I was crazy because I almost screamed 'YES!' when I saw it.

Hey ladies! Yesterday night, I went to one of my best friend's house to hang out and watch friends while eating pancakes. She had a beautiful nail design on her nails and I asked her to do the same on mine. It's mint green (my favorite nail polish color) with white flowers. Perfect for spring and summer! I can't stop looking at my nails!

Hey everybody! I'm here today with a quick NOTD. I wanted to paint my nails in one of my favorite spring colors, so I decided to go for Essie's 'Lilacism'. I found it right next to O.P.I.'s 'Glitzerland' and I thought they would be a nice combination.
I put on three coats of Lilacism. It's quite a sheer polish, but it's perfectly opaque after the third coat. Then I took the back of a makeup brush (you can also use a dotting tool or even a bobby pin) and put some of Glitzerland on a piece of paper. And then you can start putting dots on your nails! I wanted a subtle look, so I just decided to put three dots on each nail.
I think pastel and gold makes a very cute combination! I think this would also look great with blue, pink or green! :)
What's your favorite spring color combination?
xx,
Astrid

Hello, my lovely readers! It's almost halloween and I was feeling a little bit in the mood for some nail art today. I used to be really into (easy) nail art a couple of years back. When I saw all the halloween tutorials on youtube, I really wanted to do a look as well. This is a look that I've seen a lot of people do, but it looks really cool and it's not hard at all! ;)

Hey everyone, today I wanted to show you guys two nail polishes: 'Prickly Pear' by Barry M and the 'Confettis' top coat by L'Oreal. I've heard a lot of great thing about the Barry M Hi-shine Gelly polishes so I was very excited to find this color on Asos. I'd like to try out 'lychee' as well, it looks like the perfect beige color.
3 coats of 'prickly pear' (smudge alert, sorry for that), two coats of 'Confettis'
Prickly Pear is a beautiful lavander color. I like the shine and color, but I had a bit of trouble making this opaque. My right hand was perfectly opaque after 2 coats, but I needed 3 coats for my left hand. It dried very quick, which is something that I really enjoyed. I like this polish!
Confettis is an awesome top coat. It has different sizes of black and white glitters, which can spice up any nail color. I have worn this a few times, I think it looks great over red and light colors. I usually put one layer on top of all my nails, but because I decided to only put it on my ringfinger as an accent nail, I painted 2 coats on.
Have you tried this line of nail polishes? Do you like it?
xx,
Astrid

Hey girls! Today I wanted to show you a very interesting nail polish from O.P.I.: Honeyrider. This is from the Bond Girls collection that recently came out. It's a collection of 6 'Liquid Sand' polishes and they all portray a famous Bond Girl. I was looking at the collection in the store and this one immediately caught my eye.
The Liquid Sand polishes are matte, textured polishes. They are very glittery, which make it interesting, since they are matte. I like it a lot. It feels like you have sand on your nails. I personally don't mind that, but some people might not like that feeling.
The color is so beautiful and the polish applied like a dream: two coats were enough to make it perfect! You don't want to put a top coat over this, it'll ruin the matte effect.
What do you think of textured nail polishes?

Astrid

The snow has finally started to melt here in Belgium soI decided to paint my nails with a lovely spring color. I've chosen Lilacism by Essie.
This is a beautiful light, creamy lavender color. I love this one! This nail polish was fairly opaque in two coats, but I put on a third one, just to make sure the color was even. Essie nail polishes can be sheer, but this one is not one of them ;)
Essie polishes are available in Di or Kruidvat.

Hey everyone, today I'm showing you the first Revlon nail polish I've ever bought: Vixen. This is a beautiful dark burgundy cream polish, perfect for fall and winter.
Swatch: Vixen
This polish went on really smooth and was opaque in two coats (+ one base coat). The only downside is the brush, it's thin and that makes it harder to get the polish on smoothly. I like bigger brushes, like the O.P.I or Essie ones.
However, this is a color I will wear a lot this fall and winter, I love it! I dried really quick too, which is always a good thing ;)
Revlon is available at INNO and Planet Parfum for €8,95

Two weeks ago, I heard about the Astrid Bryan Collection by OPI that would be available in stores in october. The collection contains 4 gorgeous colours, all chosen by Astrid Bryan herself. I saw photos of the collection in the magazine 'NINA' but I didn't think they were that special. But then I saw the colours in the store and they really are, as Astrid would say: 'AMAZING'.
From left to right: My pimped out wonderland (shiny black), Amazing California Love (Spicy Fuchsia), Go Nutty for Donutty (Elegant brown-beige nude with the cutest name ever), Chillin by the pool (Silver Blue)
I bought the shade 'Go Nutty for Donutty', because I think the name was so cute and the colour was really elegant and classy. Nude goes with everything and I can't get enough of shades like this!
I have no complaints about the quality of this polish. It was smooth, creamy and perfectly opaque in two coats. I LOVE the colour, it really reminds me of donuts! OPI and Astrid did an amazing job with this collection, the colours are great, the names are funny and remind us all of Astrid and her quotes.
This collection is exclusively available in Belgium for €13,95. If you're interested in this collection, go to the store fast because I have a feeling this collection will sell out quite quick!
What do you think of this collection?

Hi everyone, today I'm back with a nail of the day with a beautiful nude fall colour: Essie's Demure Vixen. This is a dusty, old rosy mauve colour with a beautiful blue iridescence to it. It looked like a great everyday nude colour, something everybody needs in their nailpolish collection.
Swatch: Demure vixen
See that beautiful iridescence? I love it!
This polish was very sheer and it took me about 3 or 4 coats to get it to look like the colour in the bottle. Usually, I would find this to be very annoying, but the layers dried within minutes so my nails didn't get messy. I wished the blue iridescence would show up a bit more, but I think it would show up a bit more when you hold your nails in bright sunlight (which we don't have in Belgium now).
I really like this nailpolish and I'll be wearing it a lot this fall (and winter... and spring....), it's just the perfect nude! This polish is available at Kruidvat and Di for €10,99.
What's your favorite nailpolish for fall?

Today I have a Topshop nailpolish to show you guys! I bought this on holiday in Copenhagen. Sadly, we don't have Topshop stores in Belgium, but I always wanted to try their nailpolishes! When I saw this in Denmark, I could't resist buying some colors. I bought this color, named 'Moonstone'. This a metallic rose gold color, which always looks different in certain lights.
I'm really impressed with this nailpolish! I used two coats, but one was quite opaque as well! The only downside is that this will accentuate every single line in your nail. So a base coat is (as always) recommended ;)
This nailpolish is not really cheap, it's 6£ or around 7 euros, but because I bought this in Denmark, I payed 10 euros for it. I would really recommend this polishes, because they're unique in colors, they're opaque and dry really quickly!
Have you tried their nailpolishes?

Hi everyone! Today I'm doing a review on a nail product: the Nail Art Patches of Sephora. These came out after Sally Hanssen released her Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips.
What are these?
These are some sort of stickers with a cool design (or just one color) made out of REAL nailpolish that you can just stick on your nails. I tried regular stickers with designs on my nails and they peeled of after 3 minutes. But these on stay on perfectly, so far!
You just chose the right size for your nails, peel off the nailpolish and stick it well on your nail, starting from your nail bed to the end of your nail. These are very long, so you just file the remaining away. And there it is, a trendy, longlasting design on your nails within minutes!
When you are tired of the design, you can just remove it with nailpolish remover :)
Update: I put this pacthes on friday and today, wednesday, they are stil looking good! They have worn off a bit on the edges, but a regular nail polish wouldn't last as long!
What do you have on your nails right now?
xx,
Astrid
