Time to Recycle: Empties #14

Sunday, February 19, 2017

Hello everybody! A while back, I promised you guys a new empties post because my empties bag was fuller than ever before! I hope you're ready for the post, because it's gonna be a long one. I'll be saying goodbye to lots of hair, face and body products and also some make-up things. Let's get started!

To make this post not tooooo long and boring, I'm going to over all the products quite quickly.

Time to Recycle: Empties #13

Wednesday, December 7, 2016

Hello everybodyyyyy! Oh my god, I wanted to blog today so badly and I saw that this post was a concept since august! I'll just write it now and hope that you guys don't mind that another empties post will also be written soon because my empties-bag is overflowing. All my intern-assignments for school are finished so I decided to have a chill evening. And that means... blogging!

As always, I'll write about the product, my experience with it and if I want to purchase it again. I'd say: let's get started!

Time to Recycle: Empties #12

Saturday, June 11, 2016

You know it's time to empty your 'Empties Bag' when you discover a spider in it. This has been way too long: It's time to recycle! I know I've absent for a LONG time now, but things at school have been crazy busy. I had to concentrate on my internship and after that, I had an exam. I finally have time to blog again and trust me, I have so many blogpost planned for you guys! Let's start with one of my favorites: the empties!

Time to Recylcle: Empties #11

Wednesday, February 24, 2016

I was so happy to see the products pile up in my Empties bag again: Time for another one of my favorite posts! I've done a big declutter in my make-up stash last month and threw away everything I don't use anymore/haven't used for a long time. I'm not going to show you everything, don't worry. But I'm showing the products I've used up recently and will tell you if I would repurchase them or not.

Time to Recycle: Empties #10

Tuesday, December 29, 2015

2015 is almost coming to an end, so it's time for the last empties post of the year! Empties are still my favorite post to write and read. This time, there are a few products included that seriously disappointed me, I'm happy to get rid of them. Other products are favorites.

Time To Recycle: Empties #9

Thursday, August 6, 2015

The Empties-bag in my bathroom started looking a bit full again so I decided it was time for my favorite blogpost again! This time, a lot of mascara is included because I cleaned out my mascara box and decided it was time to toss a lot of them out. Other than that: face products, hand products, deodorants. I say we get started on recycling!

Empties 8: My Beauty Trash (May 2015)

Tuesday, May 12, 2015

Hey sweeties! Ready to look trough my beauty trash together? My empties bag started to look a little bit full again so I decided to do another empties post. As you know, I absolutely love reading and writing empties posts so I actually really wanted to do one, after a few months. Let's start talking and then recycling!

Empties #7: February 2015

Monday, March 2, 2015

Hello sweeties! It's March, yay! I love March: the beginning of spring and my birthday probably have something to do with that... Let's start this month with one of my favorite types of blogpost: empties! I love writing these as much as I love reading them.
Because my february favorites are pretty much the same as my january favorites, I decided not to do one this month. But I'll do a March favorites and I hope you'll accept this post instead of a favorites one. Let's started on what I finished in the last couple of months! :)

Empties: Products I Used Up #6

Thursday, October 23, 2014

Time for another empties post! The bag where I keep all my empties in was starting to look a bit full again so I decided to write about them. I personally like empties posts a lot, because they're the perfect way to really review a product, since you used all of it. This might be another one of those long blogposts, so sit back, relax and enjoy reading!

1. Nivea Pearl & Beauty Deodorant: I used up two of these. I usually keep a deodorant at home and one at my studio in Ghent and this time, they ran empty at the same time. I really like this deodorant, it has a pleasant scent that lingers for quite a while and it's very gentle on the skin.
Would I repurchase? Yes!

2. Nivea Stress Protect Deodorant: This is only a travel size I picked up to keep in my handbag, but I actually really liked the scent of it! I don't know if it really reacts to stress and it certainly does not last 48 hours, but it stays on a long time and is also gentle on the skin. I might pick up the full size one of this one soon!
Would I repurchase? Yes

Product Empties: July 2014

Thursday, July 10, 2014

Oh, that feeling you get when you finish up a product. I've been collecting my empties for a very long time now - So much stuff was almost empty at the same time! - and I can finally write this. It's going to be a long one, so you know what to do: get a snack and something to drink and ENJOY.

November and December Empties 2013

Thursday, December 19, 2013

Hello, my sweet marshmallows! Today, I'm doing an empties post. I haven't done one in a very long time, the last one dated from june. But I finished up some products and I wanted to share my opinion about them with you guys.

The End of Project Pan: Empties + My Experience!

Monday, June 3, 2013

Hey everyone! June has started and that means my Project Pan is now officially over! After 6 months of trying to buy no beauty products, I'm now 'free' to buy makeup again! In this post I want to show you guys what I used up in may and tell you guys a few things I learned after this project!

In May, I used up 5 things (and discovered one empty shampoo bottle that has been standing in my shower for months now). A shampoo, a travel size deodorant and two mascaras. I'm so glad to be able to toss a few mascaras out.

1. Nivea Straight&Gloss Shampoo: One of these is not really an empty from May, as it is empty since October, I think. I just always forgot to get rid of it. This is my favorite shampoo, I always repurchase this again and again. It makes my hair soft and easy to work with.

2. Fa Cream&Oil Silk&Magnolia Shower Gel: smooth and creamy shower gel. This smelled good and was moisturizing. It didn't dry out my skin. What more do we want?

3. Rexona Crystal Clear Aqua Deodorant: I didn't like this. I'm happy it was just a travel size, because it was not good. The smell was okay, but this left so many white marks on my clothing. And those are not easy to get out! This irritates me because Rexona is a brand that always claims to have 0% white marks when you use it. It even says on the bottle that you can use this and have no white marks on dark clothing. Even after shaking it, white stuff appears everywhere. Repurchase? Never.

4. Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara: The first few times I used this, I was not a fan. But after a while this became one of my favorite mascaras. It seperates and lenghtens the lashes, it's so beautiful. I'm not sure if I will repurchase this anytime soon, but I liked it.

5. Benefit They're Real Mascara: A lot of people have raved about this mascara and I have to agree: It's pretty good! I won't say it makes my lashes look like false lashes, but it adds length, volume AND seperation. If you ever want to buy a high end mascara but you don't know which one, I recommend this one!

Using up products really takes a lot of time. I've used up a lot less than I would've wanted. I used up 14 products in total. Especially makeup takes a long time. But I have tossed a lot of stuff that was really old and I was able to completely change and rearrange my makeup setup. It's better now. I also sold some nail polishes to friends, which was a win-win situation (they got new nail polish for a small price and I reduced my collection and earned a bit of money).

The project went with up and downs, a lot of great products came out recently and I had to really make sure not to buy them (Yes, Rimmel Apocalypse Lipsticks, I'm talking to you!) but I can finally try them out now. I learned to control myself a bit more, I don't feel the need to just go out and buy a product anymore. I'll only buy them if I really want to try them out, if I really like them or if I actually need them. I'm a bit more wise when it comes to makeup now. If I want something, I'll also check out reviews first before I go buy it.

Project Pan was a very interesting, hard but fun thing to do. I might do it again once.

Have a nice day everybody!
xx,
Astrid

Project Pan March Update + Empties!

Wednesday, April 3, 2013

Hey everyone! How are you all doing? I wanted to write a blogpost today, so I thought it would be the perfect time to update you all on my Project Pan.

This month flew by so fast and it was quite easy to resist buying makeup. I had a busy time at school and I didn't go shopping that much. That made it easy for me to avoid makeup stores. But also online beauty shopping was not as tempting this month. I must say, I'm a bit proud of myself. However, saying all of this now... makes me realise how much I want to go shopping for makeup. I'll better stay inside for the next couple of days ;)

I, again, realise how long it takes to use up a product. I try to use up mascaras, but I think I just have too many. I now switch it up as much as I can, so they all get used. Hopefully, I use some of them up in April.

I have three empties to share with you this month.

1) Too Faced Shadow Insurance (sample)
This is a little sample sized eyeshadow primer that I got for free with the Too Faced Eye Love palette. This sample, as well as the Urban Decay one I finished last month, had lasted me a very long time. I also have the full size one, but I've never used it because this sample lasted me longer than I had expected. It keeps my eyeshadow looking great all day long, without creasing. Yay!

2) Yves Rocher Expert Repair Body Lotion
I'm a little sad. I loved this body lotion so so much and now it's empty. As I said in my review about this product, I just adore it. It makes my skin feeling soft and hydrated for days! The lotion smells nice and sinks into the skin very fast.
My favorite body lotion ever. I will repurchase this again and again and again!

3) Yves Rocher Jardin Du Monde Pomegranate Shower Gel
As you can see, I've used this to the very last drop. There is nothing really special about this shower gel but it smells divine: so fresh and fruity.

So that's it for my Project Pan update! The end is almost there (not really, but let's stay positive) ;)

What products have you been using up this month?

Project Pan Update: February 2013 + Empties

Sunday, February 17, 2013

Girls, I have a lot to tell you. So get something to eat or drink, sit back, relax and hear me out.

I haven't bought makeup since the end of November. You might think: 'That's just two months, how hard can it be?' For me, it's a really long time. I realise that using up products actually takes a long time. I only have two empties to show you guys this month. Let me show them and tell you what I think!

1) Mini Urban Decay Primer Potion:
This little sample actually lasted me a really long time. An eyeshadow primer helps your eyeshadows stay all day and that is something I really need. I'm now using the Too Faced Shadow Insurance, which is fantastic as well.

2) Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer: I actually started using this before my Maybelline one (I used that one up in december) and I finally finished this one as well. I already bought a replacement for this one months ago, but I used this one later than expected.
I love it. It had medium coverage, but it's buildable. It's brightens the undereyes. It smells really good and fruity.

The only downside on this concealer is that it dries to a powder and it can make dry spots on the skin show up more.

A Project Pan is really harder than I thought. I really miss shopping for makeup and everytime someone tells me that they bought something, my reaction looks like this:

I found this pic today, I had to laugh really hard and I wanted to share it.

Now, I have to confess something to you guys. I want to be honest with you. I have cleaned out my makeup collection a bit more and I got rid of a lot of stuff that was too old.
And not buying makeup for months, really gives the opportunity to save a lot of money. I thought maybe I deserved a reward?

So, here it comes... I placed on order online at CherryCulture.com. Yes, I know! When I saw that they had a Valentines action two weeks ago (20% off everything at the whole store!! I couldn't resist) I decided to finally grab my chance to try out NYX and China Glaze. And I actually bought quite a lot. The order is on it's way but hasn't arrived yet.

Downside: I bought makeup, while being in a project pan.
Upside: I'll have a lot of new products to share with you guys. I thought about everything really well and decided to buy things that I didn't have yet or weren't similar to anything in my collection.

I want to say that I'm not quitting my Project Pan.This was a one time online shopping spree and I think in some way, I deserved it a little bit.  I hope you guys are not disappointed or mad, but I hope you guys understand.

So tell me,
Have you guys bought some makeup lately?

Astrid

Project Pan Update + December Empties!

Sunday, January 6, 2013

Some of you might be wondering how everything is going with my Project '6 months' Pan. In November, I decided to stop buying makeup products for six months, so I had the chance to use up products in my collection and remove them.

At first, I thought this was going to be easy. When I go shopping, I don't go into stores like Kruidvat or Di. Those are the Belgian drugstores, where they sell a lot of makeup. I just ignore stores like that. BUT being at home, on a computer, I get tempted to go on websites and see al the sales going on or new products coming out (Asos, I'm looking at you). This makes it harder. But I'm still motivated to go on and not purchase anything.

I already have a few empties as well! These are products that were already almost empty when I started, but hey, they still count as empties! I already threw them out, so I went online to find pictures to show to you guys.

1) Maybelline The Falsies Mascara: At first I didn't like this one. It was very wet and it clumped on my lashes. But after a while, the formula dried up a bit and I loved it! It seperates and lengtens the lashes. I am going to miss this mascara and I might repurchase it ;)

2) Bourjois Gentle Eye Makeup Remover: My favorite remover of all time! It gets everything off without any problem and does not leave a greasy feeling on the face. This is the third bottle I used up and I always repurchase it. I just love it!

3) Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer: I saw a review on this by Amarixe and MissGlamorazzi on Youtube so I decided to try this out and it was fantastic! It covers up dark circles very good and it blends easily into the skin.

4) Nivea Calm&Care Deodorant: If you're looking for a deodorant that doesn't irritate your skin after shaving and smells nice and fresh, you'll love this. The smells stays a long time, but is not overpowering. I use this everyday and after shaving and it doesn't irritate my skin. Very very great deodorant!

That's it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you are having a Project Pan going on, tell me all about it! What products have you used up?
xx,
Astrid
