Today, I'm doing a completely different post. I'm going through my mom's makeup and I talk about her all-time beauty favorites. My mom and I have completely different makeup routines. While I love to try out new stuff and buy (let's be honest) a lot of makeup, she stays loyal to a few products she has been using for years and years. As a child, I loved going through her makeup bag and I still love to take a look of what she's using.
Skin Care is the one of the most important things for my mom. She has been using Estée Lauder products for about 20 years now, I think and she loves it. As a day creme, she uses the Revatilizing Supreme Global Anti-aging Creme. She has been using this one as long as I can remember. My mom is almost 60 so her skin needs a creme with more benefits and care. She loves this and she still looks amazing!
At night, she uses the Estée Lauder Time Zone Night Anti-line/wrinkle Cream. All the Estée Lauder cremes smell very good, by the way! Night cream is very important for any age, as it helps your skin to recover and moisturize.
My mom's favorite foundations are the Vichy LiftActiv Flexilift Teint and the Estée Lauder Day Wear Sheer Tint Moisturizer. She uses the Estée Lauder Sheer Tint on a daily basis. It's a tinted moisturizer that adjust to the color of the skin. It's a very cool product. It gives coverage but still let's the skin peep through. When she needs a bit more coverage, she'll go for the Vichy LiftActiv Flexilift Teint.
My mom doesn't use a lot of eye makeup, but she loves using a few products to make her eyes look a bit bigger. She loves the Maybelline Falsies Mascara and the Sephora Advanced Lash Booster. As an eyeshadow, she uses the Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color in Meadow (which is just a neutral champagne color) and she likes to use the 2be Eye Contour Kohl Liner is either brown, black or khaki.
My mom switches between two perfumes. Whenever I smell this, I get reminded of my whole childhood. I instantly think about her when I smell these. Her all-time favorite is the Sisley Eau Du Soir. It's a very heavy perfume, but it suits her perfectly. She also loves Estée Lauders White Linnen perfume, but she hasn't purchased that one in years. Her other favorite is the Carolina Herrera 212 NYC one. This is a 'lighter' perfume, I'd see myself wearing this.
f.l.t.r.: Are you calling me a lyre?, Isn't That precious, Sweet Almond, Cosmo-Not Tonight Honey, Dulce de Leche
Last but not least: nail polish. She has always liked neutral colors the most and O.P.I. is her favorite brand. Her number 1 nail polish is 'Dulce de Leche' by OPI. She used to always borrow my bottle, so I got her one for Christmas last year. She also likes O.P.I.'s 'Are you calling me a lyre?', 'Isn't That Precious?' and 'Cosmo-Not Tonight, Honey!'. Another one she likes to paint her nails with is the Dior nail varnish in 'Sweet Almond'.
Do you like to go through your mom's makeup?
xx,
Astrid

Going through Mom's makeup is always so interesting. Mine owns way too many lipsticks (I guess it runs in the family :P) and she also has around 5 exactly the same eyeliners. Really don't understand why :D
