What I Got for Christmas 2014

Tuesday, December 30, 2014

Hello everybody, welcome to what will probably be the last blogpost of 2014! I had a lot of Christmas event with family and friends the last couple of days, which why this post is little bit late, but I still wanted to share with you guys what I got for Christmas this year.

At our home, we pick two names out of a bowl, about a month before Christmas. You have to buy a small gift (around €15) for one person, and a large gift (Around €35-€40) for the other person. It has to remain a secret (but you can ask one person for help. I somehow pick my dad each year and he's very difficult to buy gifts for. So I need my mom for help) and you can't have the same person twice. You can't buy a gift card and you have to make a list with a few suggestions. The person that took your name, can also be creative and buy something completely different as well, but some people (again, like my dad) are very hard to choose gifts for. So, that explains the system we do at home, let's get to the presents!

My sister-in-law got my name for a small present and got me a Frosted Cranberry set from The Body Shop. I love love love this scent and I can't get enough of it. It includes a full-size shower gel, a small body polish and a small body butter. I got a lot of stuff now with this scent, but I'm glad I got to stock-up a bit for the rest of the year.

I thought I figured out who got my name, because my mom asked me what my #1 thing on my list this year was. It turned out that my dad had picked my name and he needed her help to choose something for me. I told her I fell in love with the O.P.I. Trend on Ten set, which includes 10 miniatures of the most popular colors.

The colors are:
  • Haven't the Foggiest
  • Alpine Snow
  • Bubble Bath
  • Tickle My France-Y
  • Princesses Rule!
  • Toucan Do It If You Try
  • Cajun Shrimp
  • Big Apple Red
  • Malaga Wine
  • Lincoln Park After Dark
I really like this set, mostly because I don't own any of these colors! Some of them are not available in Belgium full-size, like Cajun Shrimp. I've never seen it anyway. Very nice set, you got all your basics here: white, sheer pink, silver, classic red, dark red, nude color, almost black,... And some fun things like a pink glitter or a hot coral. Thanks Dad! (And mom, for paying attention :D)

Now, some gifts I got from friends. I gave a little Christmas party for a few friends last saturday. One of them, Rémi, had just returned from studying for about three months in South-Korea. He got me this little note pad for writing down all my blogging ideas. It'll come in very handy!
Jolein, a friend from my class, got a me Selfie stick! I'm a bit famous for taking selfies a lot and she thought this would come in very handy, haha :) I haven't tried it out yet but I'm quite curious to see how it works!

Marijke, another friend at the Christmas party, gave me a small wrapped box. I opened it up and it had this cute Ciaté Tree Trinket inside. It's a small glitter reddish-pink nail polish inside of an ornament. So beautiful! I've seen these in store a few times and I always thought: 'No, Astrid, you can't buy more nail polish for yourself.'
Ofcourse, when someone else does it, it's okay :D

Last, but not least, my friend Celien gave me this pillow in the shape of a cat. It looks a lot like my cat Prutske and she said I must keep it in my studio in Ghent, since I'm not allowed to have pets there. I thought this was so cute! :)

So that is what I got for Christmas this year, some beauty things and some fun stuff. Please, tell me in the comments what you got for Christmas, I'd like to know:)
Have a fun New Year's Eve, be safe and I'll talk to you guys next year <3
xx,
Astrid
