Visiting Studio Brussel 16/10/2013

Hello everyone! I have a entirely different blogpost for you today. This will be more of a 'Vlog/Diary' post. I don't really know how to call it yet. Monday night, I was having a little get-together with some friends in Ghent. We were talking, drinking some jenever and were listening to the radio. We decided, just for fun, to sent a text message to the radio station. The radio station, called Studio Brussel, called us half an hour later, asking if we were interested in competing in a little quiz about beer. We said yes!

From left to right: Siska, me, Jolein, Sofie (the author), Linde (the host) and Elke
The quiz went like this: we would hear 5 famous beer slogans and we had to say the name of the beer. Our component was wrong at the first question, so it was our turn. We guessed all five slogans! We had won a trip to the head quarters of Studio Brussel, where a woman would introduce us and the listeners to a book that she has written about beer. Along with that, she would bring some beer that we could all taste.
I'm not a beer fan, at all. But this was an opportunity we couldn't miss out on. So Jolein, Siska, Elke and me went to the studios at Brussels and we had an amazing time! Studio Brussel is one of the most popular alternative radio stations in Belgium, so we were very excited!

We arrived half an hour too soon at the studio, but they said we could just sit in their lounge and relax a bit. They were very friendly and said that we could just act like we were at home, get something to drink and have fun.
The program we were featured on is called 'Linde Late Night', hosted by the lovely and super sweet Linde. She was having a chat on air with Sofie, the author of the book, 'Bier, vrouwen weten waarom' (in English: Beer, women know why'), while Sofie was pouring us some beer to taste. We didn't have a lot of time (time FLIES at the studio :o) so we could only taste two beers of the 4 beers she brought. One beer was called 'Eva' and was made and created by women. They asked my friend Jolein to give her opinion about the beer, she liked it very much.

I can't remember the name of the second beer. It is brewed by the youngest female brewer in Belgium (26 years old). This was a more heavy beer that I didn't like that much, personally.

Overall, this was a very fun experience that I don't think I will ever forget. I'm still not a fan of beer, but it was nice to taste something different than the regular beers you can buy anywhere.

I want to thank Studio Brussel for the amazing night and thank my friends because they're awesome! :D

xx,
Astrid
