Sleek Highlighting Palettes Review and Swatches

Thursday, March 9, 2017

Hello girls! Welcome back to another blogpost. Today, I will be discussing two Sleek highlighting palettes. I recently started getting into highlights and these two are very famous palettes in the beauty world. Their names are 'Precious metals' and 'Solstice'. Do I like them both? Should you get one or both of them? Which one is my favorite? I'll explain it all and show you swatches. Let's get started with the review!

Both of the palettes come in metallic packaging. 'Precious metals' is a gun metal color and 'Solstice' is gold packaging. I always like Sleek packaging, it's looks simple yet sturdy and pretty. No excess packaging, you get a lot of product for your money.

Both palettes contain four colors.

Precious Metals:

  • Platinum (cream)
  • Royal Gold (cream)
  • Renaissance gold (cream)
  • Antique Bronze (powder)

Solstice:

  • Ecliptic (cream)
  • Hemisphere (powder)
  • Subsolar (powder)
  • Equinox (powder)
In Precious Metals, there are 3 creams and 1 powder, with Solstice, it's the opposite: 3 powders and only 1 cream. You can already make a decision here based on what you prefer as highlight. I personally really like powders. Cream highlighters and blushers are a bit more tricky to use but can have a natural effect.

On to the swatches! As you can see in the swatches below, Solstice is CRAZY pigmented and all the colors look amazing. The swatches from Precious Metals are a bit less pigmented. Now... This can have advantages. If you're new to highlighting and you don't want to overdo it, you can always get this palette and keep it very natural. Solstice is more pigmented so needs a lighter hand. I like them both, but Solstice is my favorite.

These palettes are available on Sleeks website for €12,49 or at Di Drugstore.

Do you own any of these palettes? Which one is your favorite?
xx,
Astrid

  1. I also have Solstice and those are some serious highlights. :D I opted for Solstice because of the powders, which I prefer as a highlights. Creams are good to, but I mostly wear powders.
Renaissance Gold looks so pretty on your swatches :)

  2. I have the Precious Metals one, but I don't use it very often since I'm not big on highlighting :D I do really like it for Summer months though when I'm tanned :)
